I seem to be running a bit behind on my updates, however one memorable visit we made as a company a few weeks ago was to the Royal Albert Hall to see Cirque du Soleil’s Totem. For those of you haven’t yet seen Cirque du Soleil in action you are missing a treat and I would strongly recommend you book to see them in London this time next year if not before.
Cirque du Soleil is by far the most successful circus in the world, with a valuation of over one billion dollars and shows across the world. Their latest, Totem, is based on the evolution of life and every act centres on this subject. From acrobats hanging from the ceiling (pretty impressive stuff in the Albert Hall) to rollerbladers powering around the stage, the spectacle is rather special. And that is without mentioning the music score written specially for each show.
My all time favourite still has to be Saltimbanco which is currently touring around South Africa and Australia. Totem will be back at the Royal Albert hall next year otherwise a high proportion of shows are available to see in Vegas. As an office night out it was one of the best but as numbers continue to grow it proved to be more difficult to organise, the first time a coach has been required!
